Info and tips for crab rangoon grilled cheese
- For the crab, I recommend using imitation crab as opposed to canned or real. Imitation crab is what is traditionally used for crab rangoon. Real crab loses its distinct flavour when mixed in cream cheese and deep fried, and canned crab meat can sometimes be too watery, making the bread soggy.
- Sourdough is my favourite bread to use for grilled cheese, especially loaded ones like this. It has a lovely flavour and it is sturdy enough to hold all the fillings.
- My favourite tip for grilled cheeses is to always cook it low and slow. This means you get beautiful golden crispy bread AND the inside is melty and cheesy.
