Sloppy joe grilled cheese is a combination of two things that were just meant to be together. It features saucy ground beef, sandwiched between thick pieces of garlic bread and gooey melted cheese.
Info and tips for sloppy joe grilled cheese
For this recipe I recommend using lean ground beef so there is less grease. If you use regular ground beef, just be sure to strain away most if that grease. I also really like to use American cheese (or as I call it: plastic cheese lol). It melts super well and gets really creamy, but real cheese and mozzarella would work great too. Texas toast works really well for this recipe because it is nice and thick, but regular bread will work if you can’t find Texas toast.
