Info and tips for crispy rice paper ramen dumplings

I like to use the Buldak carbonara ramen for this recipe. Its creamy and cheesy with pretty good flavour, but be warned the spice packet is crazy hot! I usually only use a quarter of the packet. I also like to add a couple drops to to the mayo and green onions for a spicy creamy dip!

Working with rice paper can be tricky so here are some tips! Use lukewarm water to dip the rice paper in. Only dip it in the water for a second, it’ll still be hard but will soften as you work. If you leave the rice paper in the water till it softens it’ll fall apart and be impossible to work with.

When you fry the dumplings use a decent amount of oil so they don’t stick to the pan. They only need a couple minutes on each side before flipping. The rice paper will get lighter and bubbly when frying.

  5. Fry on medium heat with enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Flip after a couple minutes.
  6. Make the mayo by combining any remaining green onions and a couple drops of the spice packet or your favourite hot sauce. Serve the dip with the dumplings and enjoy!
