Apple cinnamon oats baked are the perfect breakfast to start your fall mornings with. If you loved the Quaker version as a kid then you’ll love these! These baked oats are filled with warm, comforting flavors like red apples, brown sugar, peanut butter, and cinnamon, topped with a sugary crumble and baked to perfection!
Info and tips
Depending on the size of the baking dish you’re using, you may have to adjust the oats to liquid ratio. Generally you want the liquid just covering the oats.
I baked the oats for roughly 10 minutes and then broiled for 1-2 minutes just to brown the crumble on top. If you want your oats to be more firm or runny, cook for a couple minutes longer/under. Adjust the baking time to your preference!
I topped my oats with melted peanut butter, but heavy cream or ice cream would also be amazing!
Ingredients
- 1 red apple
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- melted peanut butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 3 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Begin by cutting your apple into small cubes. In a frying pan on low to medium heat add 2 tbsp of butter. Once melted add in the cubed apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until apples are slightly softened and sugar is sticky. Set aside.
- Make your crumble by combining flour, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp white sugar, and 3 tbsp or melted butter. Mix until a crumble consistency forms. Set aside.
- In a small baking dish, add oats, milk, and 3/4 of the fried apple mixture. Stir to combine. Add the crumble mixture on top and place in the oven at 350 for ten minutes or until your preferred consistency (tip: I broiled mine at the end for a couple minutes to brown the top).
- Remove and top with the rest of the apple mixture, melted peanut butter, or any other topping you desire. Enjoy!
