Crispy smash dumpling tacos are a super fun fusion idea that brings together potstickers and street tacos!
When making the dumpling meat mixture, try not to overmix. Overmixing the ground pork can lead to a tough, dense, and less tender texture. Make sure you use a good pan that’s been pre heated well so that the dumpling tacos don’t stick. Its important to not move the taco around to much, you wanna let it sit and develop a nice sear. A little drizzle of oil will also help you get that golden caramelization!
Some other fun topping ideas are cucumbers or kimchi! You could also use scallion pancakes instead of a tortilla for an even more fun and creative idea!

Ingredients for crispy smash dumpling tacos
Tacos
- 10-12 flour tacos
- 450g ground pork
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 2 sliced green onion
- ยผ cup minced cilantro
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Toppings
- Cilantro
- Green onion
- Sesame seeds
Sauce
- โ cup Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Chili crisp
- 1 tbsp minced Cilantro
- 1 sliced green onion
Instructions
- Begin by mixing the ground pork with the, minced garlic, minced ginger, green onion, cilantro, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until combined but do not over mix.
- Next spread a thin layer of the pork onto each taco. Fry in a hot pan for a few minutes on the meat side, and only a couple on the tortilla side. Avoid moving it around in the pan so that it can develop a nice sear.
- Top the tacos with more cilantro, green onion, and sesame seeds. If desired, serve it with the dumpling sauce, and enjoy!
