Chicken caesar smash tacos are the perfect fun dinner idea that taste absolutely amazing! This recipe features ground chicken smashed on a corn tortilla and fried until crispy, topped with caesar salad, parmesan, and crispy onions.
Info and tips for chicken caesar smash tacos
One of the things people worry about with smash tacos is that the meat won’t be cooked all the way through. But as long as you cook them for 2-3 minutes on each side (medium/high heat) it’ll be completely safe to eat. Once you see the chicken getting a nice golden colour and caramelization on the bottom, it’s cooked through.
You can use flour tortillas if you prefer for this recipe, although I recommend using corn tortillas. You can also make your own caesar dressing, I just used my favourite store bought caesar for convenience. If you’re not a fan of crispy onions, croutons or bacon bits would be great topping options as well.

This is the Non Stick Multi Pan I used to cook the tacos. I find crepe pans to be incredibly versatile!
Ingredients for chicken caesar smash tacos
- 10 corn tortillas
- 450g ground chicken
- tsp garlic powder
- tsp onion powder
- tsp paprika
- tsp salt & pepper
- 1/2 a head of romaine lettuce
- 1/2 a lemon juiced
- your favourite caesar dressing
- crispy onions for garnish
- parmesan for garnish
- red pepper flakes for garnish
- lemon wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Start by cutting the romaine lettuce into thin pieces, add the lemon juice and as much caesar dressing as you’d like. Give that a good mix and set aside.
- Next add the ground chicken and seasonings to a bowl. Mix well and spread a heaping tbsp onto the corn tortillas.
- Fry the chicken tortillas for 2-3 minutes on each side in an oiled pan using medium high heat. Once the chicken looks nice and browned remove from the pan.
- Serve the tortillas with the caesar salad, more dressing, parmesan, crispy onions, red pepper flakes, and a lemon wedge. Enjoy!
