Spicy tuna rice paper wraps are one of my favorite late night snacks or lunches to make. They’re super easy and quick, with lots of customizable ways to satisfy your sushi craving. This recipe features spicy tuna, sushi rice, nori, avocado and cucumber, topped with my favorite spicy sauce, all folded together with rice paper fried till golden.
Info and tips
Making these rice paper wraps are fairly straight forward. You can follow my exact ingredients or you can substitute your own favorites! If you don’t like canned tuna, you can use fresh tuna or salmon, you could also use tofu which would be amazing as well. I really enjoy cucumber and avocado, but you can any veggies you want to this. To cut down on time, you can use leftover sushi rice. Other flavours that work great here are lime, rice vinegar, green onion, and cilantro!
OH ALSO! I double wrap these with rice paper. It helps decrease breakage and ripping. I run two sheets of rice paper under water until they are just wet, then I lay them down on top of each other before assembling. You don’t want your rice paper to be sopping wet, otherwise it will be quite soggy. Rice paper should be damp, and it will slowly soften as you assemble.
