My second year as a blogger and influencer: 2023 Detailed Income Report will tell you all about my second year as a food blogger and influencer. I’ll go into detail about exactly how much I made, and what I learned along the way.
The Purpose
I write these income reports in hopes to inspire you and offer guidance so that you can follow your dreams too. My journey isn’t about “how I got rich quick”, it is a slow steady burn consisting of hard work and a passion for this business. I assure you with a combination of passion and consistency, you will succeed.
The Background
I have been working on Kenna’s Cooks for about two years now. My journey began in 2021 when I wanted to learn how to make money online. That desire has now turned into my own business and raging passion that I devote time to every single day. If you haven’t already read my First Year as a Blogger and Influencer I recommend you read it to understand where I began.
This year was full of many firsts for me! I grew both my TikTok and Instagram Platforms substantially, I landed a brand deal with a product I loved, and I broke my previous income records.
As a disclaimer I am doing this part time as I am a full time student athlete in college, so my results may not seem as dramatic as other income reports you may have read. You will see some dips my income over the months, as I took a couple breaks this year for my mental health. It’s always very important not to burn yourself out!

Detailed breakdown of 2023 earnings
Affiliate Marketing: As you can see I did not earn anything from affiliate marketing this year. To be honest I completely neglected it. I decided to focus more of my efforts into Google AdSense and Sponsored Content. Next year I will be devoting more time to get better at affiliate marketing.
Sponsored Content: I think I improved a lot this year with my brand deals. I still signed a couple in the early months that definitely took advantage of me, but towards the end of the year I did more research on what I should be charging for an audience of my size and then implemented my new rate. This really helped boost my earnings. Lesson: Don’t let big companies take advantage of you just because you’re a smaller business. Your work is worth more than you think!!
Google AdSense: Google AdSense Started to become more consistent for me this year. Although I made more with my sponsored content, Google AdSense is more reliable, as I never know when I’ll get a new brand deal. I didn’t get into Mediavine this year but I’m about halfway there (Mediavine is a better ad management company that pays more)! Google AdSense is okay for now.
The conclusion
I am so proud of myself this year. I acquired so much more information about social media and bogging. My strategies and filming style is very comfortable at this point. I enjoy working on Kenna’s Cooks so much that I can’t fall asleep at night because I’m constantly brainstorming ideas or thinking about it. I also find myself spending more time on this than school hehe, but I’m a business major so it all relates anyways lol. This year I definitely made more than I expected which is amazing.
My goals for next year are centered around these points:
- Grow to 200,000 on TikTok and 100,000 on Instagram
- Focus more on affiliate marketing by utilizing Amazon Influencer and LTK
- Start up my YouTube Channel and get monetized
- Plan out a content strategy at the start of each month to increase organization
- Hit $10,000 in income next year??!!!
